Writings on the Wall

it has been a great week of unpacking, painting, setting up, etc… tomorrow we are off to New Jersey to hang with amanda’s mom and family PLUS allie and matt. then on the 26th we are heading off to NYC!! cant wait! stay tuned for the updates….

we are well on our way to having the place set up - i finished all the painting yesterday and now we begin the final unpacking stage. wish us luck!

so after over a week of when we were ’supposed’ to close - we finally did it! YEA!! now we are officially home-owners. so exciting.

thanks for all of your prayers for my family this week. it means a lot to us.

my mom just called and told me my grandma hazel just passed away in her sleep last night. she was my dad’s mom. please be praying for my mom and dad as they begin to deal with all of this right now. also, please pray for my grandpa don (her husband) - he is healthy but on a lot of medication - pray for his sanity and health as well. also, pray for my sister and i as we deal with this away from my family in NC.

yes it was a short night last night - we painted until 2am, then started moving out of the apt at 10am . thanks to EVERYONE for  helping. we could not have done it without you. so now we kick back and enjoy our first night in the home…feels great!

i will post some pics tomorrow - after everything has calmed down and i can take a breath….

yes - you gotta laugh - we havent moved in yet, but i had the cable guy come and set up the tv and internet!! ha!! today i cleaned out the garage and painted it and put up some closet stuff in our room. it has been a long day - and we are not done yet - amanda is coming and we are going to PAINT!! whoo hoo! we will post pictures today - before and after we paint.

so i am talking with my dogg jason on im tonight and he tells me he is currently watching some kids from his community (visio dei) at the church. some single moms needed some time away so gore and crew made dinner and are hanging with the kids. then he tells me that there is an AA meeting happening in the room next door at the church (in the sanctuary). so amazing. they just got in this building at thanksgiving and are using it to take care of the community. so beautiful and so inspiring. i love hearing these stories of God’s kingdom…
