so in an hour or so amanda and i are heading out to lake livingstone for the crossroads (singles at our church) retreat. this marks the first time i am speaking at a retreat - and not leading worship! ha! should be great. i am pumped and ready to get away for a couple of days and be in nature.

ps - can the games start ealier please? i cant take this stayin up past midnight every night of the week to watch the wings and rockets…. you already knew i was an old man…10.30 bedtime, right?

sunday was great this morning. there was a lot of energy and everyone was just going for it together - people were singing loud and feeling the freedom of expression (which is big for the presbys)! one cool thing that happened was the band suggested that we change up the intro tune for the morning and it was so right on! at the beginning of sound check i was just playin the acoustic lick from crowders everything glorious -then the band joined in and we just jamed on it for a few. then we went to start rehearsal and the first tune was ‘happy day’ and i was like - i dont think i’m ready for that tune yet. and then melanie said - why not just do everything glorious? so we did and it rocked! i love moments like that. esp on sunday mornings. so thanks band - you guys are great. here are the tunes we did:

after a long, grueling game 6 last night, we pulled it out - in double OT. yea baby. now only if the rockets can do the same….on to round 2!
