we are off - keep up with our journey here: our story continues…
last one for now…
we were driving back to tom and melanie’s tonight after hanging with the jolinks (tear) and reflecting on our time here. what the challenges have been, how we’ve grown, why we even came, and hoping and praying that sacramento shapes us again and we are able to connect with people deeply. i guess sometimes you dont realize how deep some relationships are until you start leaving them..
much love to all of our family in houston - hope to see you soon!
so this week there has been a succession of ‘goodbye parties’. which are really amazing and really lame at the same time. i dont like to say goodbye - i like see you later way better. so a many thanks to the lux’s for hosting the band party - and rebekah too for putting it all together. last tues night was a blast! then on wed we hung out with andrew (the most amazing sound guy ever) and jon and tiff after practice for one last round of kicks and giggles. then it was the staff party on thurs which radkey took the cake with his recital of poetry, er, boyz II men’s ‘it’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday’ - yes it was so amazing! then friday night with the marlows in austin, lunch this afternoon with talley, heather and the stankas, and tonight with my dogg jimmy v.
so needless to say we are not looking forward to not being able to see our friends here, but we look forward to staying connected for the long run on our journey’s together. so to houston - we say see ya later - let this just be the beginning….
back to importing more tolkien on cd for the drive (thank heather!! hehehe)

so this morning i had one of the best setups band wise for leading. we had mike haskew in to co-lead with me for the 11o5 and it was awesome. i also got to play electric this morning and that was double bonus. there is something so right about having more than one song leader. the interplay between me, mike, and rebekah (our female vox) was so great. i believe it really models a community leadership style and i look forward to pursuing this in the future. i also had a great experience of this leading with walton a couple of weekend ago at arcade…
thoughts?
we made it. closing was amazing - no problems, now we are free to rest. ever since we have returned from sac we have been looking forward to rest - now we have it! so sad to think we dont have the house anymore…but i’m sure we will eventually get used to it.
thanks to everyone who has been praying for us. like amanda said - God is good!
