is simply amazing. i love it. come hang and you’ll see.
so today has been wonderful - spring here in sac is absolutely amazing. after amanda’s run experience last week - she took me on the same run today and i gotta say it was awesome. totally killed me, but it was so great. and as a result i had my longest run ever!!! here are the stats:
i never thought i could run for an hour. so so great! now its time to rest and let the body heal.
ps. i now know what a hip flexer is…
amanda and i came in last night and the owner walks up to me and says, ‘hey we got a new rare reserve espresso in - you should try it.” this is amazing because now he knows me and knows my drink. greatness number 1.
so this morning, because the doppio of the guatemalan peaberry was so amazing - i decided to come back this morning. head on up to the counter, get the cinnamon blackberry scone and order the doppio, go sit down - then the owner comes to me a bit later and says ‘the espresso is only coming out satisfactory and we dont want to serve it to you. what else can we get for you - anything you want.’ greatness number 2.
the drink i ordered ended up being a little bit cheaper than what i initially ordered - so they brought me the change with the new drink. greatness number 3.
man - as amanda said earlier….i love sac.
so i must say that being in sacramento for me has redeemed my thoughts on the hope of ‘the church’ and i really feel a huge sense of calling and renewed passion for who i am and what God has called me to be. these past few days in the office and around arcade have been amazing. it is new, fresh feeling at the same time filled with feelings of home, love and comfort. amanda asked me how my day was today and i told her that i felt like i am back to ‘normal’. and maybe it is just the newness of it all - but i sense and deeper sense of peace and wholeness - of amanda and i being put back together. as soon as i said i feel normal again she said ‘me too!’ it is hard to describe right now and i dont know if this is making sense at all…i guess all that to say we are so thankful for where God has us right now and we look forward to moving ahead! one of our biggest prayers was that we would experience healing while we are here and i must say God is doing that…and i breathe him in and out tonight…
here we come! tomorrow begins our journey at arcade church. it will be my first day in the office - our mini endless summer (as marlow calls it) is over and now we are back in ‘the real life’ - whatever that means. ha!also, in other amazing news… JEFF AND STACEY ARE ENGAGED!!! check out the story here.i will post after my first day tomorrow…til then…

yep - it is great to finally be ‘home’. it has been crazy living out of our car for 3 weeks and it is great to have a place to call our own. granted there is really nothing in it - moving truck is supposed to come in a few days.hung with the waltons at temple coffee last night - which will be the new hangout - great great coffee and right around the corner from where we live! today we are off to hunt for furniture! should be fun!!!
last one for now…
we were driving back to tom and melanie’s tonight after hanging with the jolinks (tear) and reflecting on our time here. what the challenges have been, how we’ve grown, why we even came, and hoping and praying that sacramento shapes us again and we are able to connect with people deeply. i guess sometimes you dont realize how deep some relationships are until you start leaving them..
much love to all of our family in houston - hope to see you soon!
we made it. closing was amazing - no problems, now we are free to rest. ever since we have returned from sac we have been looking forward to rest - now we have it! so sad to think we dont have the house anymore…but i’m sure we will eventually get used to it.
thanks to everyone who has been praying for us. like amanda said - God is good!
